A wonderful day in Harvard Square

Harvard is the best law school in the world. Many tourists visit Harvard campus when they come to Boston. Besides taking pictures near the John Harvard Statue and Harvard School’s cool architecture, there are other things you can do in Harvard Square. In this article, I will provide 5 things that you can do in Harvard Square:

1. Stroll around the local brand store

There are a lot of local brand stores in Harvard Square such as, Mint Julep, Settebello, Looks, etc. They also have popular stores such as Urban Outfitter, Uniqlo, Lush, etc. But, I do not think you have plenty choices for popular brand here. If you want to find popular brands, it is better to go to the Newbury Street as one a tourists attraction for shopping. We will discuss about the Newbury Street in another blog post.

2. Harvard Bookstore
1256 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02138

Harvard Bookstore is a unique and special place to shop since it is locally owned. It has been one of the Cambridge's landmark since 1932. It is known for its extraordinary selection of new, used, and remaindered books. Sometimes, it also offers a huge amount of discount.

3. Enjoy good restaurants

Three restaurants that I like to visit in Harvard Square area are Russell House Tavern, Arden & Harlow, and Santouka. You can easily find Russell House Tavern in JFK St. and Santouka in Mass Ave. While Arden & Harlow is located in one of the basement in Brattle St. Both Russell House and Arden & Harlow serve American food, while Santouka serves Japanese  ramen noodle. One of the favorite menu in Russell House Tavern that I like is three ways heritage pork. Not only the portion is big, but also it is quiet tasty. While in Arden & Harlow, slow roasted pork shoulder is one the menu that you should try because it is very delicious. In Santouka, I loved the way they served the Tsukemen as one their ramen signature dishes  😋.

4. Coffee Shop

One of the coffee shop that I recommend you to visit in Harvard Square is Blue Bottle Coffee, which just open their store on February 3 early this year. Katie likes the coffee in blue bottle because she thinks it has unique taste that you definitely should try it. Besides the coffee shop she also visited Tatte Bakery. She also found that they sell great coffee too. Tatte Bakery in Harvard Square is one of the biggest branch in Boston which in my opinion, it has the nicest view compare to the other places. Beside the coffee, they also sell variety  of breads, salads, and sandwiches. One of their signature dish is also sell North African dish, Shakshouka, that I loved so much💞.

5. Pooh House

For girls who like cartoon character the Pooh, you can visit Pooh House located at outside of the Harvard Science Center (to the left of the building). Unfortunately, it is hard to find the Pooh house, since the door was stolen and Pooh will not be in the house 😂. But the good news is, for those who like taking picture, this place would be the spot you might want to check out.
