Americans love EVERY HOLIDAY, and so do I.
When the students spend lots of time on their assignments, they really need the holiday! If you are in Boston, try everything that is new to you, just as the latest upcoming holiday - President’s Day.
The best place to celebrate President’s Day is definitely in Washington D.C. There will be held many several events, such as the parade for George Washington, Revolutionary War Reenactment, etc. Because this day is for every American President.
History
Washington's Birthday is a United States federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday of February in honor of George Washington, the first President of the United States, who was born on February 22, 1732. It can occur from the 15th through the 21st of February inclusive.
Colloquially, the day is also now widely known as Presidents' Day and is often an occasion to honor the incumbent president and all the people who have served as president, not just George Washington.
President's day is a state holiday in most states, with official names including Washington's Birthday, Presidents' Day and Washington's and Lincoln's Birthday. Depending upon the specific law, the state holiday might officially celebrate in Washington alone, Washington and Abraham Lincoln (whose birthday coincides on February 12th), or some other combination of U.S. presidents (such as Washington and the third president Thomas Jefferson, who was born in April)
How To Celebrate The Holiday
Americans give high respect and salutation to what the country considers as the “Father of the People” and their first ever president.
- Find The Big Sales For Yourself
BUT, Americans never forget the holiday is the best day to get the big deals. Many shops and stores have provided the great discount and special promotions starting from the weekend before the holiday. All over the country patriotism is shown through the shopping volume. Don't miss any chance to buy something you want to buy during the holiday period.
Recommendation of shopping place:
- Explore The Historical Architecture
This is also a chance for you as an international student to understand the country you are living in now. You can go to any American History Museum, President's Memorial and historical building to learn the history of the United States as well as explore the city.
Recommendation of historical architecture:
Last, tell you a secret. If you want to tell the current president something, it's also a great chance to e-mail your thoughts to the current president in President's Day. This day has very high chance of getting the president's reply.
Hey! Don't forget Trump ONLY use Tweeter, or he will not reply your e-mail.
