Hi Everyone, Boston is an expensive city to live in. Things here can often go out of budget. In this blog i will be telling you about some interesting free things which you can do in Boston😊.
In case you are a student or new here, then you really must consider some things while travelling and roaming around. What if I tell you, that there are a number of amazing things to do in Boston for traveling and looking around, which you can do for free 😊.
1) The Boston Common &The Public Garden
There are a lot of famous and beautiful
parks and gardens in the city of Boston. Also known as Boston Commons, it is
one of the oldest parks situated right in the heart of the city near the
downtown. The Public Garden is situated right next to the Boston Commons and it
is America’s first public botanical garden. There are a variety of beautiful flowers
and the tree here which are very intelligently and symmetrically placed. In the
summer time you can spend the entire day walking around and resting in these
gardens and parks, also there are a lot of events and interesting activities
happening all day long. There is no entry fee in these parks and gardens and
one can stay there for as long as they want, roam around freely and also admire
the historical buildings which surrounds the gardens and parks.
2) Samuel
Adams Brewery
If you like beers, then Samuel
Adams Brewery is a must go place. Samuel Adams is a very famous beer🍻 in Boston
and it is a flagship brand of the Boston Beer Company. The Samuel Adams Brewery
offers free tours to the public, so anyone can go and checkout that how & what
is brewing in there. These tours are free, and tour tickets are issued on first
come first serve basis. Hence you would want to arrive early😉. In there, you can
get a firsthand experience of the various brewing processes involved, get to know
about the history of the famous Samuel Adams and also taste and sip samples. Isn’t
it amazing, you would not want to miss this tour.
3) The
Boston Public Library
The word library sounds
heavily academic. But if you are a student or even a tourist, I would suggest
you go and visit this library. Many a times, the library provides free art and
architecture tour of the library by volunteers. International students from
different universities in Boston and all adult residents from Boston can use
and rent material from this library for free. This library consists of an
Italian Renaissance inspired interior courtyard along with beautiful fountains
and wonderful pathways. Opened in 1895, this is the second largest public
library in the United States and receives state funding. It is really a great and
peaceful place to study😊.
4) The
Coit Observatory at Boston University
For
all those who have a great interest in star gazing🌟★, the Coit Observatory at the
Boston University conducts a public open night where you can go and observe the
beautiful night sky through telescopes and binoculars and see things which you
usually cannot. The event/nights are usually held on Wednesdays and starts at
7:30 pm onward in the fall and winter season⛄ and 8:30 pm onward during the spring
and summer season🌞🌅.
5) The Hatch Memorial Shell
Many
of you must have already heard the name of The Hatch Shell or seen this in the
movies. For those who haven’t, I must tell you that The Hatch Shell is a very
famous place in Boston for events, concerts, performance, movies and much more……It
is basically an outdoor concert venue. It was built in the shape of a funnel and
this feature provides a really good quality of sound
to the audience. The Hatch Shell is situated near the Charles river and there
are free movie screenings here on Friday nights. I would really recommend you
all to go there once😊.
This is awesome. I just had my cousin visit Boston and we checked out this list!
