How To Obtain Discounts From Collage (Links Inside)

Yafeng Chen

Boston is a very expensive city in US. Let me calculate amount of money for you. This weekend, your friend, studies in State of Alabama, will come to Boston. He/She wants go to see movie, visit aquarium and museum. Movie ticket is $15 each, aquarium ticket is $25 each, and museum ticket is $25 each. you will buy two tickets each place, which 15*2+25*2+25*2=130 Dollars. I guess you will spend $200, including food and transportation fee, at least in this weekend. This is a big amount of money. Do you wan to pay less than that? Let's go to your campus.

If you are a student in Boston, I suggest you don't forget benefits from universities. Sometimes, you can't imagine how big benefit your school can provide to you. From my Perspective, DISCOUNTS can be the biggest benefit that your college can provide, because the deal are available for every student. It isn't like that some benefits are provided to honor students only.
In addition, these discounts aren't like the discounts, only 10% off, from outside. 70% off is a normal deal, even more than 70% off sometimes.  For example, I brought the skiing package for $110, including ticket, skis, and helmet in one skiing area. After I came to know about the season deals from Umass Boston, I brought the skiing ticket, including ticket, skis, and transportation, by $35 from student activity office. You can image how much money I saved.

Since I am student of Umass Boston, I am giving an example of UMB. Frankly, finding discounts is not that hard.

Option 1: Search "Discounts" in official website of UMB.

After you get the page likes the ones shown above, you can click the item which you need. If I want to search any ticket with discount, I would like to click the first item, Discount Tickets- University of Massachusetts Boston. Then I can see the following page.

I can look for which tickets I want in the page. Even, we can buy the transportation passes in UMB. Then, We only have to go to these offices which are showed online, and buy the ticket.

Option 2: Stop by Offices that have discount tickets.
Since some special event, such as sports event, plays, musicals, etc, only will be available on till a limited date, you should walk in the office in order to make sure of these deals.

Option 3: Pay attention to your email, blog of university, paper poster, events on campus.
Students are always ignoring the emails, blog post, paper poster from university, but university informs discounts deal though those ways. If you see those earlier, you will get discounts earlier than others. Additionally, some organizations place their exhibitions of discount on campus lobby or some other places. This is a good opportunity to get discounts as well.

This just is a example of Umass Boston, but if you are student of other universities. These discounts are still waiting you. I provide some links below for students of other universities.

Umass Amherst

Boston University

Harvard University

MIT

Suffolk University

I didn't list all the links of universities that are located in MA, but you only have to go to the homepages and search "discount" on the searcher.
