Museums In Boston

If you enjoy going to museums, then Boston is the right city for you. There are a number of museums in Boston. Some of them are historical, some are cultural, some are artistic, scientific.....the list is long.


In this blog I will be telling you about a number museums in Boston where one can visit, enjoy and gain knowledge.

1) Museum of Science     

This Museum is located in the Science Park, near the Charles River. I strongly recommend you to visit this museum. The Museum of Science consists of more than 700 interactive exhibits, a number of public events, interesting live presentations, drop in activities, 4D Films, Planetarium shows, Butterfly garden and some thrilling 360 degree rides. One can actually witness a lightening storm in the Theater of Electricity in the Museum of Science. You can experience yourself amidst the stars and universe in the famous Charles Hayden Planetarium. I must say, this is a must visit place for museum lovers😊.

2) Dreamland Wax Museum

This is an interesting museum located in the Downtown/Financial district of Boston and this is the place where you can get up close and personal with celebrities, famous world leaders, artists, sports icons and movie stars 😊. This museum is located close to the Faneuil Hall area and consists of over 100 wax figures of famous people. The figures displayed in the museum are beautiful and are a unique work of art, which involves months of planning, research and hard work. In the figures they use the most advanced material, from real human hair, to porcelain teeth to surgical prosthetics. One important tip......When you visit this museum.....don't forget to take along your camera 😉.

3) Isabella Stewart Garden
   
This beautiful museum is situated in the Fenway-Kenmore neighborhood of Boston and is located near the Back Bay Fens. This place comprises of one of the worlds most famous and significant art collections from Asian, European and American history, which comprises of paintings, sculptures and beautiful decorations. If you like gardens, this is the palace to be, since this museum comprises of beautifully designed landscapes and gardens. On Sunday afternoons and on some selected Thursday evenings, emerging musicians and artists perform and showcase there talent here. Also many art exhibitions take place here, so if you are a nature or art lover, this is the place to be 😊.

4) Museum of Fine Arts

This is one of the most famous museums in the world and is the fifth largest museum in United States. It consists of masterpieces from all over the world and from different time periods. It ranks 43rd in the most visited art museums in the world. One can view the American arts from colonial period to modern times, you can also see the treasures from Egypt here and the famous Japanese art collection is also kept on display here. Every month there are some changes in the exhibits so you will always find  something new, every time you visit this place. You can find beautiful paintings, paper work, textile work, decorative and related artworks from North, South and Central America.
