Saving money always is a hot topic in daily talking between "you" and "me". I would like share some experience that where did I buy cheap things in Boston area. But I am not a super money saver, I just wanted to make my life easy and comfortable, Therefore, I will introduce some places normally in this blog.
Second-hand Market
From my perspective, second-hand market is a good place to buy furniture, such as cabinet, table, chairs and the like. The reason is that new furniture are really expensive in America, but the used furniture would be pretty cheap. For a international student who only live there around 1-2 years, used furniture are good choice.
You can search "second hand market" in Google Maps. In addition, IKEA also has a second hand furniture department.
Local Market
If you want to buy cheapest fruit, vegetable, and seafood, Haymarket is a good place to go. Haymarket is a historic outdoor local agricultural market. Fresh fruit and vegetable are very cheap. You can not image how cheap like that. For example a big box of strawberry is only 0.99 dollar.
100 Hanover St, Boston, MA 02108
As my experience, I only know one local outdoor agricultural market in Boston area. There is a subway station, called Haymarket, in the way of green line. This market only 5 mins away from the subway station.
